What is container loading supervision? How to operate it specifically? What is the purpose and significance of supervised installation?
Container Loading Supervision (CLS) refers to the professional third-party organization or company dispatching loading supervisors to the site to supervise the entire loading process at the factory or freight forwarding site when products are loaded into containers for shipment. It intends to ensure that products are packed in the correct manner and according to requirements, avoiding damage, loss, or other issues caused by improper loading, and ensuring that all order quantities of goods are fully loaded.
1. Container inspection: Before loading, inspect the container for any damage, deformation, cracks, rust, holes, stains, moisture, water leakage, or other issues that may affect transportation safety. Ensure that the interior of the container is dry, clean, and free from oil stains, impurities, odors, or other pollutants that may affect the quality of the goods.
2. Inspection of goods packed in boxes
1) Quantity verification: Confirm whether the actual quantity of goods packed matches the order, packing list, and contract. To avoid incorrect installation, missing or excessive installation, and to prevent quantity errors.
2) Packaging inspection: Check whether the packaging of the goods is firm and meets the transportation requirements to avoid damage during transportation.
3) Label and identification verification: Ensure that the label, identification, barcode, etc. of each item are consistent with the order and shipping documents to avoid misdelivery or omission.
3. Supervision of the packing process
1) Reasonable loading: Supervise the sequence and method of packing to ensure that heavy goods are placed at the bottom and light goods are placed at the top, in order to maintain the balance and stability of the goods in the container, avoid damage caused by the collapse or tilting of the goods, ensure that the goods will not be damaged or lost during the packing process due to improper loading, weak fixation, etc., and ensure the safety of the goods during transportation.
2) Fixation and protection of goods: Ensure that the goods are secured in the container using appropriate support materials (such as wooden boards, bubble pads, fixing straps, etc.) to prevent movement or friction damage during transportation.
3) Space utilization: Ensure the reasonable use of space inside the container, arrange the goods tightly, avoid excessive gaps inside the container, and prevent the goods from shaking during transportation.
4) Optimization of packing sequence: Reasonably load the goods according to their outbound and unloading order to facilitate unloading at the destination.
4. Take photos and record
Supervisors usually take photos or videos of the entire packing process, recording each step in detail for later inspection and tracking. If any problems are found, the loading supervisor will record them and communicate with the shipper or freight forwarder to ensure that the issues are resolved.
5. Container sealing and seal check
After the goods are packed, check whether the container is properly closed and ensure that the container door can be fully closed and locked. Check the seal number to ensure that the container seal matches the information in the shipping documents, preventing the goods from being illegally opened or tampered with during transportation.
After the monitoring is completed, the supervisor will issue a detailed report, recording the quantity of goods, packaging situation, loading method, packing sequence, container condition, quantity and status of loaded goods, seal number, packing photos, etc. If any abnormalities or problems are found during the monitoring process, the monitoring personnel will immediately report to the shipper or relevant person in charge, so as to take timely measures to solve them.
Through the above services, the supervision and loading service can provide shippers with higher cargo safety guarantees, ensuring that the goods are transported to the destination in the best condition and reducing risks during transportation.
